Led by an interprofessional team of physicians and APPs, Indy Wound is a full-service wound care solution for patients.
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our skilled team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in wound care, but this is not required; on-the-job training will be provided as necessary. As a key member of our wound care team, you will play a vital role in assessing, treating, and managing complex wounds while collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
– Conduct comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based guidelines and best practices
– Provide wound care procedures/treatments autonomously in a variety of settings: inpatient (rehab hospital, skilled nursing facility), outpatient (clinic)
– debridement, I&D, wound culture, etc
– Optimize wound healing outcomes by utilizing advanced wound care modalities, such as negative pressure wound therapy and bioengineered skin substitutes.
– Educate patients and caregivers on proper techniques, prevention strategies, and the importance of adherence to treatment plans
– Utilize electronic health record systems for documentation
– Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
– Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies
– Demonstrates organization, flexibility, and cooperation in performing job responsibilities
Requirements:
– Valid Nurse Practitioner or PA-C license in the state of Indiana
– Valid CS and DEA license in the state of practice
– Understanding of EHR platforms
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for patient care
– Ability to travel/commute within your assigned area
– Physical ability to provide wound care in a variety of settings (patient positioning; <50lb)
