Founder
Dr. Neal K. Patel is a double board certified and fellowship trained reconstructive foot and ankle surgeon. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Bloomington and his medical degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Patel then completed his foot and ankle surgical residency at Jesse Brown Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Chicago, IL where he served as Chief Resident. His training involved surgical and non-surgical management of various lower extremity conditions with an emphasis on wound care, amputation prevention, deformity correction, and infection management. During his residency, he participated in clinical research with scientific presentations at multiple surgical and wound care conferences.
Upon completion of his residency, he relocated to Southern California and completed a fellowship in advanced wound care, diabetic limb salvage and lower extremity reconstructive surgery. During his time in Los Angeles, Dr. Patel maintained privileges at top-ranked Cedars Sinai Medical Center and worked alongside leaders in the fields of plastic, vascular, and orthopaedic surgery. As an avid learner and proponent of furthering the craft, Dr. Patel devoted his free time to surgical training of resident physicians and students.
Today Dr. Patel is bringing his practice to his home State of Indiana. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching Indiana sports, outdoor activities, and trying cultural cuisine. He is excited to be home and serving the Hoosier State!

Dr. Thomas Zumbaugh

Dr. Thomas Zumbaugh began his academic career at Indiana University Bloomington graduating with a degree in Biology and Chemistry. From here, Dr. Zumbaugh pursued his passion for medicine at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, graduating Summa Cum Laude, where he was colleagues with Dr. Neal K. Patel.
After medical school, Dr. Zumbaugh decided on a new challenge on the East Coast and underwent a rigorous four year residency program at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. His focus was on lower extremity limb salvage and reconstruction under the instruction of prestigious faculty in Foot & Ankle surgery. During this time, Dr. Zumbaugh was able to train alongside world renowned surgeons in Vascular and Plastic Surgery to further his expertise in the management of lower extremity pathology.
As an attending physician, Dr. Zumbaugh has maintained privileges with Penn Medicine and UPMC hospital systems in central Pennsylvania. His focus has continued to be wound reconstruction and lower extremity limb preservation.
Dr. Zumbaugh is excited to be back in his home state of Indiana and is honored to have the opportunity to serve the Hoosier community.

Rachel Triggiani

Rachel Henderson is an Indiana-licensed and ANCC Board Certified Nurse Practitioner.
Rachel is from Indianapolis and moved back to her hometown a few years ago after spending over a decade in Chicago, Illinois. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from DePauw University as well as an accelerated Bachelor of Nursing degree from IU South Bend University. While in Chicago, Rachel completed her Masters of Science in Nursing specializing in family medicine at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Rachel has almost a decade of experience working as a registered nurse in an in-patient setting. She spent the majority of this time working as an emergency department RN at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
She is passionate about providing holistic, personalized care to patients. She strives to provide high-quality, compassionate patient care. She believes a good foundation of high-quality patient care begins with educating the patient, using evidence-based practice medicine and building a strong patient-provider relationship. She is a firm believer in being a great patient advocate.
Rachel began her career as a nurse practitioner working for the Advocate Aurora hospital system in Chicago in a retail medicine setting and later transitioned to working for a private urgent care clinic before moving back to Indianapolis. Her true passion for wound care developed while working for a mobile wound care company. During this time, she specialized in treating chronic, stalled wounds using robust wound management and treatment.
Rachel and her fiancé, Dan, recently bought a home in Carmel, Indiana. She loves spend time outside at local parks with her fiancé and two dogs, Cody and Riot. Once an avid equestrian, she is hoping to get back in the saddle soon.

Neha Patel

Neha Patel is a highly accomplished healthcare executive with over 15 years of leadership experience across diverse sectors of the healthcare industry.
She currently serves as the Director of Operations for Indy Wound Center for Limb Preservation & Reconstruction, where she oversees operational excellence and strategic initiatives to enhance patient care.
Neha’s commitment to quality and excellence is evident in her achievements. She received the American Health Care Association’s Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award in 2019, recognizing her organization’s dedication to performance improvement.
In 2020, during the challenging times of the pandemic, Neha’s leadership was further acknowledged when her organization earned the Silver – Achievement in Quality Award. This prestigious recognition highlights the extraordinary innovation and drive to improve resident care and foster a nurturing work culture for staff.
Neha earned her Bachelor of Public Health degree in Health Care Administration/Management from Indiana University Bloomington and went on to complete her MBA in Health Care Administration/Management at Indiana Wesleyan University.
She is also a licensed Health Facility Administrator, certified by the Indiana State Board of Health Facility Administrators since 2009, further solidifying her credentials as a leader in the field.
With a proven track record of driving operational success and improving healthcare delivery, Neha Patel is recognized for her ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, implement innovative solutions, and foster organizational growth.
Her dedication to enhancing patient outcomes and her extensive experience make her a great asset to the Indy Wound team!
